ProActiv 3-step system review

Time for a review!

*I received this 30 day Proactiv 3-step system to test through Influenster's Voxbox program, go check it out!*

I was so excited when I received this Proactiv 3-step system in my Cosmo Voxbox a little while ago, I've actually been wanting to try this system for some time now.
I just have a thing with ordering through the TV, but you can order this through the Proactiv website www.proactiv.com , which I didn't know about. I also noticed at some of the malls I've been to have a little kiosk so you might be able to purchase it there.
A 30 day 3-step system is $19.95

This system includes a cleanser, a toner, and a repairing treatment.

The cleansers active ingredient is 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, which is a commonly found in acne treatments. It may cause dryness or irritation so it's recommended to spot check on your skin for about three days to see if you have any adverse reactions. *Please, please, please do a spot test! An allergic reaction could cause your face to swell and that's no fun*
If all is well, it states you should use this twice daily.

The second step is an alcohol free toner. A toner helps remove excess oils and cleans any impurities from your skin.

The third step is a repairing lotion, it also has 2.5% benzoyl peroxide in it. *So, that spot test is a must! :0) *

Okay, now for my experience.

When I first used the cleanser, I used it in the shower. It kind of freaked me out because it has exfoliating crystals in it and I didn't know that. *Should have did the spot test...I know, I know...*
I thought I was having some reaction to it and it was taking my skin off, but it was just the crystals. haha.
I really like that it does exfoliate, it makes me feel like it's cleaning even deeper than just a normal cleanser.

I thought the toner was really soothing on my skin. I've had toners feel a little harsh and sting my face before. This one doesn't have alcohol in it, which I like.

The lotion just feels like a regular moisturizing lotion, it also has benzoyl peroxide in it, so it might dry out your skin.

You're supposed to use the whole system twice a day, but if you're like me and have combination skin or dry skin, I would say try using it less than that.
It did make my skin feel alot dryer, even after the first use.
It also smells like peroxide, after I use it I can still smell it on my face. Ick.

My husband has oily skin and he has been using this as well, and it works wonders for him. It does make his skin dryer, but not dried out.
It has helped both of us with acne.

My final conclusion:
I think if you have acne, you should give this a try.
I think it's more suited for someone with oily skin due to the drying effect of the peroxide. If you have dryer skin but have acne maybe try it once a day or a few times a week.

My husband gives this an A for his skin type
I give this a B+ for my skin type.

Venus ProSkin moisturerich review

*I received a Venus razor in my Voxbox from Influenster a little while ago to review so I figured I'd do that today, so here we go.*

I've been using Venus razors for as long as I can remember so I was pretty excited that I got this in my Voxbox, it would be once less razor that I'd have to purchase, and I'm all about saving money.
I'm also all about saving time. I love that you don't need to use shaving cream when you use this razor, you just need to make sure you get the razor really wet and make sure whatever you happen to be shaving is really wet, to make sure it glides properly.

PROS-
*No need for shaving cream
*Gel bar is infused with body butter
*Leaves skin feeling smooth
*Easy to use
*Saves time

CONS
*Gel bars don't last as long as I'd like

To help with the bar lasting longer, I try to keep it away from the water in between rinsing it. I use this razor in the shower so it cuts the bars life a little bit, but I think it works best for time saving if you use it in the shower.

A starter kit costs about $9.95 and you can purchase them at most super markets or at http://www.gillettevenus.com/

I give this product an A.

What is your favorite razor to use? Are you loyal to one brand?
