Nail Of the Day + My Black Friday Haul.

Hello everyone! And welcome to any new subscribers. *waves.*
How was everyone's(in the US) Black Friday and Cyber Monday?
Any crazy stories? Do you go Black Friday shopping?
Tell me your crazy stories.
And do you have any special shopping days in your country?

I thought I'd do a NOTD since I haven't done one in a while, mostly because I change out my polish like it's going out of style....aka: I'm not the best manicurist. haha.
I used this combo and thought I had to share this, it's so pretty and great for fall.

This was what it looked like the second day. Isn't it gorgeous? I had intended only glittering the accent nail, but I thought it was too pretty and glittered the whole hand. haha.
It reminds me of fall and Thanksgiving with the brown and gold together.
I thinking I just might take this off since it's chipped now, and re-do it. I love this combo so much.

Normally I have chips galore, even with Seche Vite top coat.
I actually only used Sally Hansen's 4-in-1 complete care as a top coat and it lasted for days! yay.

I had some minor chipping, but nothing too noticeable to make me change it out completely.

I used Essie's Golden Nuggets.
A fine gold glitter in a clear base, as a top accent coat.

And NARS' Bad Influence.
It dries darker on the nail, my pictures are accurate color. It looks really nice alone, or spiced up with an accent top coat.

And......my Black Friday Haul!

BBW-Not all of it is shown, the Gift Bags are not pictured, but their contents are mostly there.

Now, my Black Friday experience.

My Black Friday came a little early, it was more like Black Thursday.
We wanted to goto Toys-R-Us and pick up a little trampoline for our daughter since she's in gymnastics and she loves the trampoline. They had a little one on sale for $50 and I thought we'd just go, get in, and check out. HA. HA.HA.

We went and made it a little early and I totally underestimated how big of a crowd there would be. I thought for sure, since it opened at 10pm on Thanksgiving Day that everyone would be at home getting ready for all the midnight sales or already at stores like Best Buy.
Mmmm no. People were wrapped around the whole store and back to the front doors. My husband and I decided we'd just come back after we hit good 'Ol Walmart.
That was crazy too. We normally go Black Friday shopping, but never in my life have I seen a place so packed in all my Black Friday years. LOL.
That being said, we've never spent more than one Black Friday in the same state.....we move ALOT.
We've been here for three years now, and this year was pretty crazy....

We swung back by Toys-R-Us and I sent my husband to check it out.
Ay, ay, ay.
They estimated his wait time to check out as 2.5 hours, and that was before he actually got to the trampoline.
We threw in the towel. No trampoline. Hmmph.
BUT, he did get a good story to tell.
A lady ran her cart into another lady because she wasn't paying attention and then proceeded to cuss the lady she hit like it was her fault. The lady called the other lady out and they got into a fight and the cops kicked the lady and her husband out or they were going to be arrested for threatening violence. Ha. Toys-R-Us....

After all that, we decided it would be a good idea to hit the mall up for some Bath & Body Works.
We waited, and waited, and waited. The crown was huge and it was past opening time. The crowd got restless and decided it'd be a good idea to open the doors themselves.
I'm pretty sure every cop in our town was there. The stun gun was brought out and used....the K-9's were there....it was a fun time.
My husband and I saw that they were letting people in at a near store so we snuck off and got in while everyone else was waiting for the main entrance. hehe.

BBW wasn't packed when we first got there so I did what I do best. I shopped and found some awesome deals.
By my picture, you probably think that I spent an arm and a leg. Nope. I actually spent about $80 and got about $500 worth for FREE.
On Black Friday, BBW will let you stack coupons. I am a coupon Queen. I stacked coupons on top of already awesome deals.
Thank you, Thank you. :0)
I've been trying to share my awesome deals with you guys, so whenever I come across a deal, I will be sure to post about it.

And that was our Black Friday.
How was yours?

NARS eyeshadow duo swatches-Bysance & Island Fever

Look what I got in the mail yesterday! My NARS eyeshadow duos! Yay!
Okay, enough exclamation points.

A couple posts back I mentioned that Sephora was having a super awesome deal on NARS eyeshadow duos-for $10, well, I snatched those up real quick.
They still have them posted on their website, but they are out of stock. :0(
But, keep checking back, you never know...they might come back.

And the VIB sale is coming up in a couple days ( NOV.10-14) so if it comes back in stock you could save an extra 20%. And of course I'm going to say go through a website like www.ebates.com and earn 4% cash back on your purchase.
* No, I do not recieve any compansation, I just love Ebates-I do have a link you can join under me, but I've never posted it*

Okay, Let the swatching begin.

The lovely packaging.

I love their packaging, but it gets dirty faaast.

Bysance & Island Fever

Bysance
When I first saw this I thought of LA Lakers. haha.
Marigold/Iris

When I swatched Bysance, I immediatly noticed the shadows were so smooth/creamy/buttery feeling. They just glidded right on my arm. I didn't use a primer. The gold color is really pigmented. The Iris color is pigmented, but you might need to layer it on for a deeper color, if need be.

Island Fever.
So pretty in person.
The grey shade has some pink and silver glitter in it. It's not huge glitter, if you weren't paying attention, you might not even notice it. It's very subtle. It's gorgeous.
They both are very shimmery.

I just did very quick swatches, forgive me, I feel like I'm dying. lol. I've been sick all week. hmmph.
Once again, I didn't use a primer.
This swatch doesn't do this duo any justice. It is gorgeous in person.
The shadows are so silky smooth and glide right on and blend out so effortlessly.

For $10 these duos are a steal, with the discount and cash back....it's robbery. LOL. If you can get your hands on these, I defenatly say go for it.

Did you pick these up? Do you already have them? What do you think?

October Favorites

It's November!? What? I just said I couldn't believe it was October....ugh! I'm not ready for November. I just had a little "OMG" moment when I flipped my calendar over and remembered Thanksgiving is not too far away. Geeze. This year has flown by so fast.
One thing that makes me happy : Black Friday! hehe.

Okay, now for my favorites...

Hush, Hush-Crescendo-Silence
I am a book lover.
I'm just going to say it, I was checking out what Wal*Mart had to offer and I stumbled upon the book series "Hush, Hush" so I picked it up and read the back and decided to give it a go. The cover artwork is amazing, sometimes I do judge a book by it's cover, because honestly, I really just skimmed the back. lol. I didn't even know what the general idea of what it was about other than I saw an angel on the cover. I figured I would try the first book and if it was a fail, oh well. Normally, I don't buy books at full price unless it just calls to me, and this one did.
Like I said, it's about a fallen angel and it's a love story geared towards young adults...I enjoyed it, and I'm 25, but I also like that kinda thing. Mushy lovey dovey, everything could go wrong but maybe it'll end up perfect. Swoon. Yep, that's me.
I read the first one and had my husband pick the other two up the very next day! And read those just as fast. Silence actually just was released this October and one more book is on the way for 2012.
Like I said, I don't normally buy books at full price and my local discount store had this whole series for $3.99 each! Ugh! Double ugh! and Triple ugh!
I actually told my husband I loved those books so much I was tempted to buy them at the discount store and read them all over again, even though I already have the books! That's how much I LOVE them.

Anywho, enough of writing a book on my favorite books. ;0)
Moving on....

I used Clinique's dramatically different moisturizing gel for October. I have combo skin, and I also have the normal version and a I mix the two sometimes.

I have to throw some BBW in the mix...
I used Charmed life lotion constantly in Oct.

Physicians Formula's Organic Wear was my mascara of choice.

Almay nearly naked makeup was my foundation of choice, and this does feel really light weight.

The Balm and the Beautiful palette was a staple, and I'm sure I'm going to love it every month to come because it has some awesome colors that are super pigmented.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this NARS blush palette! It is such an amazing deal. Love the brozer, love the highlight...love it. You can pick this up at Sephora and the F&F sale is still on until tomorrow, I think.

I got this Justin Beiber Someday perfume sample when I picked up my NARS palette....and I'm like a teeny bopper, I know, but I actually like this perfume alot. *blushes* teehee. Maybe I just don't want to grow up? Or maybe this actually does smell really good?
What do you think? lol.

I love this Burt's Bees Super Glossy natural lip shine in Nectar Nude.
It smells like oranges and it's pretty moisturizing.
You can feel the little shimmery things on your lips sometimes, but I feel like it's exfoliating, so I kinda like that.

I love the smell of apples and I've been using the BBW pocket bac in Bat Bite. Good thing I have a backup.

For nails I've been drawn to brownish shades.
I wore this Sally Hansen Xtreme wear in Time to Shine.

And NARS Bad Influence.
*For some reason this chips like crazy! I even use Seche Vite and it chips within hours-could be that I'm impatient when it comes to drying....?"

What were some of your favorites?

My Sephora Friends & Family haul

My Sephora Friends & Family package arrived yesterday and it was like an early Christmas for me.
It didn't come until the very last second, I kept checking my front door numerous times and even heard the UPS truck take off and checked and nothing! Ugh. But then I checked one last time and there it was in all it's glory. That UPS guy is sneaky....lol.

Here we go.

I've been planning on purchasing a Clarisonic for a while, and was going to for sure pick one up at the end of this month and viola! F&F sale! Score. I originally wanted the Lavender one, but this Berry colored one had an awesome deal with it. It was $119 ( Like all Mia's) but came with a ton of free goodies. So, $119 for about $200 worth total with the extra freebies, with 20% off and 4% cash back through Ebates.com....I don't know about you, but that equals a pretty darn good deal in my book.

All my goodies, minus my Mia, she was charging. lol

This is what I got for free with my Berry Mia.
A full size Boscia face cleanser! Sweet. This is supposed to be about $26! It also came with a moisturizer, a pore refiner, and a few face peel kits. Pretty nice.

I also picked up some NARS. I wasn't planning on purchasing the NARS Danmari cheek palette, I was going to pick up a different gift set, but I saw some swatches and pictures and instantly changed my mind. Who could pass up six blushes/bronzer!? Especially when two full sized ones would equal the price of this....plus the sale of course, even better. So I had to have it. It is stunning. Even if you have a couple of the full size blushes in this palette, it's still a great deal. With the sale, it makes each pan less than $10 each.
I also got two polishes, Bad Influence and Pokerface. I couldn't pass that deal up, $8 when they are originally $17? Had to have it. LOL

A close up of my NARS Danmari palette.

And that was my small haul.
What did you get at the F&F sale? Are you planning on purchasing anything? The sale lasts until Nov. 2, and if you're buying online, don't forget a site like Ebates!

My Sephora haul *Picture heavy*

My Sephora package came. Yay!

All my goodies.
Half of what I got was free. F-R-E-E, my favorite word. Ahhh. I love it.

My free perfume samples in Gucci by Gucci Sport and Issey Miyake L'EAU D'ISSEY Florale.
The Gucci is 2ml and the other one is 1ml.
If I'm going to get a perfume sample, I love getting them in the vials rather than the little towelette. ( I'm talking to you Taylor Swift! I got my Wonderstruck sample and it's a towelette and I have a sinus infection and can't really give a review and I opened it a little...hopefully it doesn't dry out before I get my senses back. ha)  I think in order to truly see if you like something you have to try it a few times.
Both of these perfumes smell really good ( as much as I can tell), and I should say cologne because the Gucci one is for a man.
The other one is floral, and normally I don't really like floral scents too much, but this has a light floral scent and I can tolerate it. Floral scents normally give me a headache, so if you have that same problem, this perfume might be okay for you too if you're interested.
I give them a thumbs up.

I got a sample of this in my August Birchbox, the original kind, and I loved it.
I have combination to oily skin and found this light version, so I bought a travel sized one to try it out.

I swatched it and the texture of the light feels like lotion. I'm curious to see how this will work compared to the original. The original feels like a smooth silicon and it wasn't heavy at all.

All of my freebies. :-)

My Yves Saint Laurent mascara sample. (I posted the code for this a couple posts back)
I can NOT wait to try this. This mascara is supposed to give you the false eyelash look and believe me I need  all the help I can get for my poor little lashes. lol.
This is a 3ml sample, not too bad, not too bad at all. It's a $15 value.
I have a ton of mascaras to try before I can test this, look for those reviews in the near future.

I picked up this Dior Diorshow mascara in black. I've tried and reviewed D&G's volumizing mascara and LOVED it and wanted to compare it with Dior.
Have you tried this mascara out yet? What are your thoughts on it? Worth the money? Did you love it or hate it? Let me know.
I'll be doing a review on this, but like I said, I have a TON of mascara to go through before I get to this...eek...remind me to lay off the mascara purchases. ha.

My $8 NARS eyeshadows!! Yay. I'm so glad I found these little gems on the website...
and the deal is still available! Go check it out!

The packaging on NARS eyeshadows, and NARS in general, is so cute. I love the little mirrors.
California and Night Sun.

Close up of California.

Close up of Night Sun.
Note: This has ALOT of chunky glitter in it. My camera couldn't pick up the glitter at all.
It's a very pretty shadow.
If you hate glitter, you could still get this as the glitter falls off pretty easily. You have to pack it on if you want the glitter to stay on.

Swatch of Night Sun. It's pretty sheer.

Swatch of California.
This swatch looked better on my camera, sorry it's blurry. This is a VERY pigmented shadow. It's a lovely copper color.

And last but not least, my two year old daughter wanted to help swatch. LOL. This is what was left over on my finger....SUPER pigmented.

A haulin' we will go.

Hello Hello.

It's Friday! It's Friday...gotta get...just kidding, but I am going shopping today! Woot woot.
I have been stuck at the house all week so I think we deserve a little retail therapy. We are probably going to go to Target, Ross, and TJ Maxx today.
 A treasure hunt.

I love, love, love going on treasure hunts. I always like going to the handbag, beauty/make-up, body, shoe, and book sections. Hmm, pretty much the whole store. ha.

I've seen some NARS make-up at TJ before and I'm hoping  to find some today. I'm also looking for some Big Sexy Hair spray-n-play hair spray, I've been wanting to try that for a little while, I've heard good reviews.

What has been your biggest find at stores like TJ Maxx?

At Target, I'm thinking about the Sally Hansen's nail polish strip things...they look so neat. We'll see.

I'll let you know the results later today. I can't wait to do some reviews.
