imPRESS Press-on Manicure-review

Review time!

I've refrained from reading any other reviews on any products from Influenster, so all my opinions are based on my experience alone.

*I received imPRESS press-on manicure free to review from Influenster's voxbox program-this in no way, shape, or form influences my opinion. All opinions are honest and my own.*

I got these cute black with silver and glitter crackle nails to try out.
I really liked this design, I haven't tried the crackle polishes and this was a nice easy way to try that look.

It took me about five minutes to put these nails on. It was very fast and simple. Match the nails ahead of time for the best fit. They come in 12 different nail sizes, I usually have a hard time matching artificial nails with my natural nails, but this had a great selection of sizes.

Make sure you clean your natural nails of excess oils for the best results. You want the glue to take hold, otherwise they will pop right off.

I really liked the way they looked. I thought these were great for when you're in a pinch and don't have the time to get or give yourself a manicure.

I liked the length of the nail, not too short or too long. Perfect.

I thought these were great, but they didn't last long. I am constantly using my hands. I think these would be better for a special occasion where you wouldn't necessarily be using your hands constantly, but I have a two year old so these babies popped off quick.

My two year old daughter loved the nails. ;0)
She had fun playing around with them.

PROS: *Fast
                                              *Great for parties or events
                                           *Has a nice size selection
                                                       *Has a nice color/design selection
                                            *Didn't damage natural nail

CONS: *Not for someone who works with their hands alot
*Not great if you have a small child you need to take care of

You can purchase imPRESS nails for around $5.99 for colors or $7.99 for patterns. You can check out all their information at and also download a coupon.

Have you tried imPRESS press-on nails? How was your experience? Love 'em? Hate 'em? Let me know!

Hunger Games news!

Effie Trinket will be the official face of China Glaze's new Hunger Games inspired line: Capitol Colours.

I'm so excited! I can't wait for this line to come out, and I can't wait for the movie! ;0)

If you haven't read the Hunger Games books, I suggest you do, they are pretty awesome.

January Julep Maven options

I have the Julep Maven options for January, and they look soooo good.
Every month I keep telling myself it's okay to skip a month so I can save some extra money since I don't need tons of nail polish, BUT, every month Julep keeps having awesome colors that I don't have in my collection. And, if my profile doesn't have something I love, one of the other profiles do and I switch. hehe.
I love that Julep gives you so much flexibility.

Okay, here we go.

This is my beauty profile.

I LOVE all the options for January! I want them all.

And, if you log in to your profile you can click Upgrade My Box and get a complimentary upgrade. You have three options to choose from, and once again, they all are great.
*for the first 5,000 mavens*

*Julep Maven is a program for $19.99 a month. You take a quiz and get a beauty profile and Julep will send you your colors and options. You can switch your box to ANY box you like or you can skip a month and not be billed. So many options and so flexible. I highly recommend trying out the Julep Maven program if you love nail polish*

What is your beauty profile? What colors do you love?

December Birchbox-Love it, or hate it?

I got my Birchbox in the mail today!
I almost made it without cheating, but, as the old saying goes, "Once a cheater, always a cheater..." Haha.
I just can't help it. I NEED to know what to look forward to.

Look how cute the packaging is!

They used white glittery paper and the card that tells you what you got was made into a Christmas card.
How cute!

And here is all my goods.

I got Harvey Prince-Yogini-8.8ml is$26 or 50ml for $55
This sample is HUGE! This is what I want out of a perfume sample.
It's about the size of two samples put together.
I normally try to dip, dodge, and dive away from perfume samples from BB.
I can get perfume samples for FREE...but if I'm going to get one from BB, I want it to be like this.
The only thing is, I HATE this perfume. :0( Waah.
It has sandalwood, Egyptian myrrh, and grapefruit. I'm smelling the myrrh, good for Christmas, not good for my headaches. Ugh.
This was a fail.

Befine-Gentle Cleanser-3.4fl oz is $25
This is a 1oz travel size.
This is what I expect when I pay money for samples.
I love travel size products because it gives you the opportunity to try it for a while.
This is made with sugar, rice, and oat extracts.
It smells minty, and I looked at the has peppermint extract in it.

My picture flipped! Lol.
JOUER-lipgloss in Birchbox Pink-full size is $20
This is the smallest lipgloss I've ever seen...but it is a sample, after all.

It goes on pretty sheer, but it is buildable. I put a couple of coats on this swatch.

L'Oreal Professionnel
Mythic Oil
4.2 oz for $30
I don't know if it's because last month I got an Oscar Blandi hair mist in a 2oz travel size or what, but I thought I'd get something bigger....Hmmmph. lol.
This is smaller than the perfume sample. Meh.
It is oil though, and oil goes a long way...

Nicely packaged goody bag.

These were my "extras." Prep-Show Stoppers-Designer fashion tape
24 for $9.99
Orange Natural energy booster
20 packets for $28

My final thoughts:
I really liked the packaging of this month's box. It was super cute and festive.
I thought the contents of this month's box was meh. I think out of all my past boxes, this was the one I liked the least. I wasn't impressed with any of the products. I didn't hate it, but if I could have, I would have skipped this month and saved my $10 for a rainy day.

What did you get in your box? Love it? Hate it? Have you tried any of these products before?
What are your thoughts?

December Julep Maven box-Bombshell

I wasn't supposed to get this until the 7th, and it arrived yesterday. Yay! for fast shipping. :0)

I did a shelf pull this month. I chose the Bombshell box instead of the American Beauty box.

Look at how cute this packaging is! Julep normally comes in a black box and a black bag.

The card that tells you what you got.
*I have no clue with my pictures flip sideways-and I can't fix it! Ugh*

Adorable festive packaging.

My box came with Julep's Pomegranate body creme.
This is a full 4 oz size and is $18 on their website.
I was slightly afraid I wouldn't like this scent since I'm not too big on pomegranate, but this is actually pretty nice. It's not overpowering at all.
This has pomegranate and papaya enzymes in it, which dissolves dead skin cells.
I love this stuff! It makes my hands so soft and it's not greasy at all.
It's also paraben free.

I guess this is an "extra." Some people got glitter, I got little pearls. I don't know if I didn't get that much on accident or what, compared to others that I've seen, I didn't get that much. lol.

"Demi"- Julep describes this as an elegant burgundy.
And Julep Fast Dry Topcoat-these are full size and are $14 each.

This is a gorgeous red shade and I only applied one coat and no topcoat in this picture.
I've noticed most of Julep's nail polish only needs one coat to be opaque. I love it.

All of my goodies.

For those who don't know, Julep Maven is a monthly subscription program for nails/hands and costs $19.99 a month.
You take a test on to see which beauty profile fits you best and you'll get an email every month to show you what box and colors you'll receive. Unlike normal monthly subscription companies, Julep lets you do a "shelf pull" and pick a different box. You can also skip a month if you don't like any of the options, or just running low on funds that month.
Each box has well over $40 worth of products and is totally worth it in my opinion.
Once you become a Maven, you'll also get a special discount code for 20% off all your orders and free shipping.
(You can order off their website even if you're not a member)

Are you a Julep Maven? What are your favorite Julep colors?

Sephora Deluxe Fragrance Sampler for Her/Him-review.

If you know me, you know I can't resist Sephora.
So, it's about that time again...haha.

I picked up the Deluxe Fragrance Sampler for my husband and had to have one for myself.
These sets cost $50 each ($96 value) and the "Hers" set has 12 samples plus an atomizer. The "His" set has 14 samples, including two Jack Black facial products.
If you're not familiar with Sephora's fragrance gift sets, you might be like, "What the heck!? Why would you pay for samples!?" I wouldn't. These sets come with a voucher that you can redeem in store for a free full size bottle of the fragrance of your choice.
So, you get the samples to try each perfume/cologne out for a while to see which one you fall in love with. Perfect.

The sets are packaged in keepsake boxes. This box is so sparkly in person. It's really nice quality.

The atomizer to the left, and the voucher for a full size bottle of perfume of your choice to the right.

    The "Hers" set comes with:

-0.05 oz Bvlgari Mon Jasmin Noir Eau de Parfum
-0.05 oz oz Clinique Happy Eau de Parfum
-0.05 oz Coach Poppy Flower Eau de Parfum
-0.05 oz Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Eau de Toilette
-0.05 oz DKNY pure DKNY Verbena Scent Spray
-0.05 oz Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gioa Eau de Parfum
-0.03 oz Givenchy Very Irresistible L'Intense Eau de Parfum
-0.06 oz Gucci Guilty Eau de Toilette
-0.05 oz Juicy Couture Eau de Parfum
-0.04 oz Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau de Toilette
-0.05 oz Prada Infusion D'Iris Eau de Parfum
-0.05 oz Versace Bright Crystal Eau de Toilette

His box

1.0 oz Jack Black Double Duty Face Moisturizer and 1.0 oz Jack Black Pure Clean Daily Facial Cleanser to the left, and the voucher for free fragrance of choice to the right.

This set contains:

-0.05 oz Bvlgari MAN
-0.06 oz Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Pour Homme
-0.05 oz Giorgia Armani Acqua di Gio
-0.03 oz Givenchy Play Eau de Toilette
-0.06 oz Gucci Guilty Pour Homme
-0.04 oz Hanae Mori HM
-0.03 oz Jean Paul Gaultier LE MALE
-0.04 oz John Varvatos Star U.S.A
-0.05 oz Prada Amber Pour Homme
-0.05 oz Versace Man Eau Fraiche
-0.05 oz Yves Saint Laurent L'Homme
-0.05 Yves Saint Laurent La Nuit De L'Homme

These are nice travel size products. I'm jealous that mine didn't come with something like this. lol.

These sets are perfect for gifts, or just for yourself. They're a great deal, and if you order online, don't forget to go through a site like for cash back. The last time I checked, Ebates was having 8% cash back on Sephora right now.

Sephora also has a Collector's Edition Fragrance Sampler for Him/Her that's $75 each ($155 value for him and $175 value for her) with larger samples that come in tiny little bottles of their namesake. So precious, and well worth it. These sets also have a voucher for a free bottle of your choice. *The fragrance options are different than the ones I reviewed-so check that out if you're interested*

*A quick tidbit*
Confused by the Eau de Toilette or Eau de Parfum?

These labels are just giving you an idea on how long you can expect your fragrance to last.

Body sprays or splashes don't last as long as an Eau de Toilette, and an Eau de Toilette doesn't last as long as an Eau de Parfum.

Is this on your wish list? Have you purchased these in the past? Love it? Hate it?
I'm so tempted to pick up the collector's edition.
